I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a gym rat, so don’t be surprised if you see me in the gym for hours at a time. But it wasn’t always that way. I was never really into fitness or athletics until college. I finally made it into a gym and started playing basketball. I quickly became addicted to exercising and eventually got into weight training as well. But it was getting harder and harder to challenge myself following the typical bodybuilding routines. I began to realize that just looking fit didn’t necessary mean feeling fit.
Luckily, I was introduced to CrossFit by a coworker way back in 2008 and have been doing it ever since. Sure, the first workout kicked my rear, but it was such a challenging experience and exactly what I needed. I love CrossFit because of the way it prepares you for life and the unexpected. I’m constantly learning new skills that I never thought were possible and am pushing my capabilities further than I could have ever imagined. Along the way, I’ve learned that I love Olympic weightlifting while also gaining a greater appreciation for gymnastics.
Over the years, many strangers have come up to me in the gym to ask about my workout program and if they can train with me. My eyes always light up because I love sharing my passion for CrossFit to others. I’ve been able to introduce crossfit to numerous friends and coworkers and have personally trained most of them. I realized I had a good understanding of the various movements used in CrossFit and a helpful eye for technique and efficiency. I actually have gained quite a following and am proud to say that I’m the source my friends and colleagues recommend when others are curious in giving CrossFit a try! It’s been great sharing CrossFit with others and I’m really looking forward to bringing my coaching experiences to CF Deliverance.
What’s my biggest regret with crossfit? I’m disappointed to say that I never joined an affiliate until CF Deliverance. I’ve always done CrossFit and trained others on my own, but little did I realize how much I was missing out on. The supportive environment and friendly atmosphere of a CrossGit gym simply can’t be replicated. I’m grateful to be part of such a great community of people who inspire me, and I look forward to getting into the box everyday.
The beauty in CrosFit programming is that it can be catered to all individuals regardless of fitness level. It can be hard, but it makes accomplishing that 1st pull up or improving your previous workout time that much better. So no excuses, CrossFit is calling you!
